After fifty years,
Del Oro has much to be proud of. It is recognized throughout the Sacramento region for its excellence in academics, athletics, and spirit. Why is Del Oro so successful? Because of the commitment by the community to support it. Generations of many Loomis families have graduated from this school. It is a jewel among the high schools governed by the Placer Union High School District in terms of fundraising, facilities and programs.
While history has made Del Oro great, time has worn down some of its facilities. During the past ten years, many improvements have been made to the campus to keep it up to date. Now it is time to turn our attention to the Del Oro Pool.
Our New Pool Committee was formed a year ago to find a way to transform an aging 6-lane pool into an aquatic facility that would not only serve the needs of Del Oro aquatics, but also Loomis and its neighboring communities. After a year of research, presentations and brainstorming, the PUHSD has approved a conceptual design and the start of fundraising for this facility.
